Eugene Rabe<br \/>\nCamera B &#8211; Wes Holmes<br \/>\nEdited by Eugene Rabe<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ffcc99;\">Transcript of video:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><em><br \/>\nDoes God have a clue<br \/>\nwhat it\u2019s like to be you?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Does a God who sees all<br \/>\ndoes He understand?<br \/>\nCan He imagine the limitations,<br \/>\nthe shortsightedness of human life?<br \/>\nAs Job once asked: Do You have eyes of flesh?<br \/>\nAre Your days like the days of man?<br \/>\nCan He comprehend such blindness,<br \/>\nto who\u2019s eyes all is clear?<\/p>\n<p>Has God ever lived by faith<br \/>\nand not by sight?<\/p>\n<p>Can a God who is all-knowing<br \/>\nCan He identify with<br \/>\na being as me \u2013 facing uncertainty<br \/>\ntrapped in situations<br \/>\nwhere the outcome is not clear<br \/>\nHow does He know<br \/>\nwhat it is like to not know all<\/p>\n<p>Could the limitless One endure the confines of human life?<br \/>\nCould he bear the ordinary existence of a man?<br \/>\nIs He powerful enough to become so weak?<br \/>\nIs He all-knowing enough to know our doubt?<\/p>\n<p>If life was only neutral,<br \/>\nfaith wouldn\u2019t have been so unusual.<br \/>\nBut often, the mundane turns to pain<br \/>\nOur uncertainties become frightfully clear:<br \/>\nHere where we live,<br \/>\nthere is rejection,<br \/>\nthere is shame,<br \/>\nthere is injustice.<\/p>\n<p>Does God have any idea<br \/>\nwhat it is like to be here?<\/p>\n<p>Has the All-powerful One, ever been helpless?<br \/>\nHas the immortal God, ever faced death?<br \/>\nHas this God ever really experienced conflict or confusion?<br \/>\nHas He been tempted?<br \/>\nDoes God have any clue,<br \/>\nwhat it is like to be you\/me?<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I love your questions, now hear my reply:<br \/>\nI came \u2026 and became all that you are<br \/>\nWillingly subjecting myself to every human limitation<br \/>\nI saw with eyes of flesh<br \/>\nNot all was clear, not all was bare<br \/>\nwhen I became you.<br \/>\nThe incarnation is my answer.<\/p>\n<p>He had to grow, he had to learn,<br \/>\nAn ordinary man, a carpenter, most of his life<br \/>\nThe routine, the frustrations,<br \/>\nthe anxieties of daily life, he understands.<br \/>\nYet, he began to remember, began to see,<br \/>\ndiscovered a faith, that allowed him to perceive,<br \/>\nthe spectacular beyond the visible.<\/p>\n<p>The Word became flesh,<br \/>\nentered our domain of conflict and shame.<br \/>\nFalsely accused, brutally abused<br \/>\nAs nails were driven through His flesh,<br \/>\nHe even knew even our doubt \u2026<br \/>\nand on our behalf cried out:<br \/>\nMy God, my God, Why?<br \/>\nHave you forsaken me?<br \/>\nBut then, as God, he answered:<br \/>\nBy entering our hell he declares:<br \/>\nI will rather go to hell than forsake you.<br \/>\nEven when you are at your worst<br \/>\nI will not turn my face or despise you<br \/>\nHe experienced our torment, \u2026\u2026<br \/>\nfelt our pain,<br \/>\nsubjected to our injustice<br \/>\nwounded by our violence<br \/>\nassumed even our doubt.<br \/>\nHe came in the form of sinful flesh,<br \/>\nexposed Himself in the most vulnerable state,<br \/>\ndefined Himself in a human face.<\/p>\n<p>He knows you<br \/>\nHe has experienced everything you have experienced, with you<br \/>\nFor in Him all things consists \u2026<br \/>\nincluding you<br \/>\nYou were in Him, when He became man \u2026 he became you.<\/p>\n<p>Do you have a clue,<br \/>\nhow well God knows you.<br \/>\nHe invites you to see what He sees,<br \/>\nAnd to know as you have always been known.<br \/>\nFor the moment you become aware of him,<br \/>\nyour hell becomes heaven.<\/p>\n<p>He does not save by legal transaction<br \/>\nHe does not heal from afar by magic incantations<br \/>\nHe heals what He becomes, He saves what He assumes.<br \/>\nHe became all that you are<br \/>\nso that you may be all he is.<br \/>\nOur atonement secured by His at-one-ment with us<br \/>\nHe embraced us when we were at our worst,<br \/>\nthat we might share in His best: resurrection life.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, wherever you might find yourself,<br \/>\nHe is with you, He is for you, He loves you<br \/>\nand wants to turn your life into the greatest romantic adventure.<br \/>\nSimply become aware of His closeness.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;
